Expeller-pressed coconut oil is refined coconut oil. This oil is processed by “physical refining” rather than the modern way of processing coconut oil by chemical extraction, using solvent extracts. Expeller-pressed is a mechanical extraction of the oil from the coconut. Coconut oil is not typically hydrogenated so it does not contain trans fatty acids. If an oil is hydrogenated it will be listed as such on the product label.
