Indian Mung Dal
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mung dal (orange lentils) found at any Indian grocery store
- 6 cups of water
- 3 bay leaves
- 2 tsp of salt
- 4 or 5 medium sized tomatoes, chopped
- 1 can chick peas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp black/brown mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cummin seeds
- 3 dried chilies, chopped
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- ½ tsp tumeric
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
